About Us

Our Intro
Chaverim Boston is a 100% volunteer organization.  All of the members offer their time and services because they care and want to help a neighbor in need and their community at large.

Chaverim Boston was founded in 2020 by Jonathan Shapiro. Jonathan had seen the immense work of other Chaverim chapters around the country and was inspired to provide the same type of help to the Greater Boston community.

Chaverim responds to typical calls ranging from keys locked inside vehicles, flat tires, cars not starting or out-of-gas, to some unconventional emergencies such as homeowners being locked out of their house or a variety of urgent non-medical help. When calling Chaverim Boston, the first line of help is offered by one of the many volunteer dispatchers. A detailed message is sent out to all of the members to find who is the closest and most conveniently available. All Chaverim volunteers are trained and every safety precaution is taken. Volunteers were masks at all times during Chaverim calls.

Since its start, Chaverim Boston has quickly grown to cover many calls each month and is continuously expanding the work they perform. From supplies to volunteers, Chaverim has taken off and has received rave reviews from all individuals that have benefited from these volunteer services.
